Far Cry 5 (2018)

 A Ubisoft Montreal Production - PC, PS4, XBONE

I was on Far Cry 5 from it’s inception. From prototyping and doing research on the farms lands of Montana which listening to YouTube videos of preppers and cult leaders to shipping the most successful Far Cry game to date, this is a project I’ll never forget.

E3 Demo

I worked on the E3 content for our game’s reveal with all the Nick Rye missions (Exotic airplane mission). It was the first time I had the opportunity to work on the demo that the press and gamers would get to play at our E3 booth. Going to E3 for the first time was definitely a highlight for me.

My Missions

On Far Cry 5 I was responsible for missions such as:

  • Wrath (Air battle against John Seed. Also used for the E3 demo.

  • The Confession / The Quality of Mercy (Designed the bunker kit with my level artist)

  • Rye and Son’s Aviation (Saving Nick Rye at his home airport followed by an airplane mission)

  • Grace Under Fire (Helping Grace Armstrong defend the church)

  • Wingman (Stealing Nick Rye’s airplane from the Cult)

  • Man’s Best Friend (Finding Boomer the dog and Saving him)

My Role on the team

This being my 5th Far Cry game, my role on this project was very much as a mentor for the Junior and new LDs that would join us. Throughout the project I assisted our tools team in making sure we have stable and functional tools. As our project came to a close I was one of the last level designers on the team and helped fixed all the issues for the missions located in Holland’s Valley.
